Baltics4UA project partners suggest using educational methodology and the policy brief

Project partners met at Latvian University on 2.-3. December 2024, and looked back to the Baltics4UA project implementation.

Project team meeting at Riga University 2.-3.12.2024

Partners agreed that within the Work Package 2 the most valuable deliverables for future use are the policy in brief, and methodology guide to support citizen engagement at universities. The policy brief offers recommendations for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) regarding the organization of citizen engagement activities, drawing from 23 social actions implemented by the Baltics4UA consortium. Methodology for the design, implementation and assessment of citizen engagement as crisis response at Baltic HEIs was conducted in the leadership of Web2Learn, and offers instructions for academic and administrative workers.

Within the Work Package 3 open access educational materials for academic staff, and podcasts for supporting using these materials are worth to use in enhancing citizen engagement.

The project took place in the period when the full-scale Russian war against Ukraine was still going on. Project partners stated that the effective partnerships between academia, businesses, and communities are crucial for addressing societal challenges and fostering resilience. Citizen engagement is not just about participation but about empowering individuals to lead and innovate during crises. Proactively building adaptable systems and partnerships ensures we are better equipped to navigate future challenges.
